The Routine.

Wake up dear, we're all alone.
Slip the music on and dance with me.
Get to the grind your own way.
Love me like you've never loved before.

It's funny how I never really needed you.
Until I lost you.

Wake dear, I'm all alone.
Slip my music on and cry with me.
Get to the grind in my way.
Love me like I've loved before.

It's funny how I never really needed you.
Until I had me.

Wake up dear, I'm all alone.
Slip my music on and dance.
Get to the grind at my own speed.
Love like I will love again someday.

It's funny how you never really needed me.
Until I found myself.

I turn 23 in 5 months exactly. Woah.

There really hasn't been any interesting revelations or thoughts from my mind lately, sorry for the lapse in interesting reading.

Maybe next time.

Honesty is the only cure for humanity.

"The Invention of Lying" was an interesting sci-fi movie. It involved a society where no one knew lies existed, and therefore only spoke exactly what was on their mind. Besides Jennifer Garner being a total babe, this movie offers an interesting perspective to lying, and what could come of it. In our society, it is common practice to lie. Various reasons involves getting things a person wants and making people feel better about something. It's also used to tell something that is not a whole truth.

I think what this world really needs is more honesty. There have been various situations in my life where honesty would have helped the entire situation. I applaud people who are honest. For example, a married woman propositioning someone other than her husband for sex. Hey, at least she's being honest with herself and the other person, too bad for her husband though. On the other hand, lies covering up the truth are extremely detrimental to people's mental health. Answering a simple question, "why didn't you ask me for my number?" All I wanted to know was the truth, not a worried look or a laugh. Just an answer. Or another example: tell people you're not into that you're not into them. When people become attached to an idea, it's hard to get that idea out of their head. Words can help alleviate that problem. Plus, the person you're leading on will feel better and will be able to find someone else. Maybe there was spark, and they can't get you out of their head. Give them that at least.

In other words.... The past few weeks, people have been lying to me. I don't like it one bit. If you're into me, let me know. If you're not, grow some balls and let me know.

Honesty is the cure for humanity.

Courtesy.

It's a simple damn thing, right? I am continually finding that people are becoming increasingly less courteous. Could be just me, but I don't quite think so... I believe it's the lack of physical interpersonal communication that is causing this lack of courtesy that I am seeing. We communicate in such an electronic way now, with texting, twitter, and Facebook that we've forgotten the power of "thank you" and of a simple smile.

Ok, let me give you a bit of background. I don't get out much on campus, but when I do it's always an interesting experience. As I was walking through the campus center, no one made eye contact with me whatsoever. People's heads were down, headphones were in, or they were texting and walking. I always try to smile at strangers. This is something that always yields interesting results. Probably two out of three people smile back, which makes me happy. Anyway, I get to the library, and I hold the door open for some girl in tights and Uggs, and she didn't say anything. She didn't even seem to notice that I was there, allowing her to pass through the door without any effort on her part. Now, does that seem like the right thing to do? Nope.

Overall, people need to unplug. Let's get outside. There's a HUGE pile of leaves on the corner near my house, let's go and jump in there! Let's go watch the sunset before it gets too cold to walk out there. Let's grab a soccer ball and kick around in the park.
Talk to a stranger and try to make their day... Smile at someone new. Make a loud joke and see who laughs. Just, put yourself out there!

We are all passengers on this, our spaceship Earth. Let's make it an enjoyable ride, because we only get one shot.

Much <3 to all.
